The James Berry Fund has been set up to help Manx cyclists gain racing experience in Europe.

Mission

To help young Manx riders gain experience overseas and give them opportunites to further their cycling ambitions.

Description

The James berry Fund has been established in memory of James Berry. James was a young promising Isle of Man cyclist who was tragically killed in December 2005 while out training with fellow Manx cyclists.

The fund has been set up in James’ memory by riders from Manx cycling clubs and is administered through the Isle of Man Cycling association. The aim of the fund is predominantly, though not necessary exclusively, to give support to young Isle of Man riders that wish to improve their skills and experience by riding in Europe.

General Information

Funds are raised predominantly through the JB ride on the day of the Isle of Man Cycling Association annual dinner. Additional funds are raised during the dinner through raffles and auctions of cycling equipment provided by, amongst others, the hugely successful Manx cycling community and local businesses.

The aim of the Fund is to preserve the memory of James and to allow cyclists who are supported by the fund to blog their experiences – easy or otherwise. The fund could not provide support to these riders without the support and generosity of the manx community.

For more information please contact the James Berry Fund.
